It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well…..almost. Even though fall doesn’t start officially until September 22nd, the pumpkins come out at my house on September 1st. Even though it is still pretty hot in Nashville, I can still be found in sweaters and boots. Call me basic if you must!
As much as I love the sound of leaves crunching under foot and love the smell of bonfires, it’s the clothes though that do it for me. Boots, scarves, and sweaters….oh my!
Here is a list of classics to get you started with your fall capsule wardrobe! (Click the links to shop.)

Every classically styled lady should own a good trench coat. A good one will never go out of style! They just don’t change and they will bring even the most casual of looks up a notch. I love this one! It’s even on sale right now!
Look put together with dark, denim jeans like these from J Crew . These are a vintage straight leg and come in regular, petite, and tall.
I love a blue and white gingham shirt. They go great with all of the colors we love to wear during the fall.
I feel like I am repeating myself with this one, because I believe I have mentioned it the past two seasons, but you need a classic, white button-up like this one. They are great for layering under sweaters as the temperatures become chilly.
Cozy is my love language, all-day, everyday! And an open front, long cardigan like this one is at the top of my list. I love them because I can dress them up or dress them down and it still has that classic look and cozy feel that I love.
Trade your favorite summer footwear out for a nice flat like this one or a nice ankle boot like this. And you guys know I love these loafers! Also, I can’t wait to break these new beauties in!
Any autumn loving girl needs a well made plaid shirt!
I could get carried away with telling you my favorite items for fall, but these are the basics that every classically styled girl needs for their fall capsule wardrobe. Please excuse me now as I go sweet talk my husband in to helping me drag out my pumpkins and autumn decor. XOXO – Scarlett
