I know I keep saying it, but I am so ecstatic to have other pant options besides skinny! Today we are styling wide legged pants.
If you want to stick with the skinny jean, you go right ahead! You should feel good about what you wear. However, if you dare to venture into the world of wide-leg trousers and jeans, there are a couple of things to keep in mind when styling.
You can shop these looks by clicking on the numbers under the picture. (DISCLAIMER – I use some affiliate links. This does not change the way you buy, it just means that a small amount of commission goes to me, who has helped drive the sale.)

#1 Accentuate Your Waist
For the love of all that is holy, do NOT where a long flowy top with this style of pants! Failure to accentuate the waist will result in a frumpy and unpolished look. Try tucking in your shirt and/or adding a belt. Doing this will create an hourglass waist effect even if you don’t have one.

#2 Monochrome Creates Length
I’m a big fan of a monochrome look no matter the style. It automatically makes you look more expensive and put together. Another plus to a monochrome look is that it makes you look leaner and longer! And who doesn’t want that?!

#3 Don’t Let Them Drag the Floor
Wide-leg pants should NOT drag the floor. I remember in the 90’s when the backs of our jeans were tattered and stained. That was fine (I guess) when we were teenagers, but now it just won’t do. If you are in love with the fit of a pair that is a little too long, either wear them with heels and wedges or take the time to have the length tailored for you.

BONUS TIP: For Petites
When picking out your wide-leg pants, choose a style that doesn’t have a lot of extra material in the waste and hips. It is very easy for us petites to get lost in too much fabric and look a foot tall.
I hope you enjoyed these styling tips! Let me know in the comment section below what you might like to see next. XOXO – Scarlett
