When my family takes a trip to Walt Disney World one of the things I enjoy most is the food….after the rides, and parades…..and shows…..and Mickey…and princesses…..well, ok I love it all!
On this trip, we hit up the ABC Commissary while we were at Hollywood Studios. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos. When he was talking about them the next day, I knew he must have enjoyed them. It was when I was making my list for the grocery store that he said, “Hey! Do you think you could make me some shrimp tacos like I had at Disney?”
Luckily, Disney is very thorough in most things and it wasn’t hard to find a detailed description of what was on them. Mind you, I didn’t have the tacos. Honestly, I was so into what I was eating and thinking about getting my turn on Rise of the Resistance that I wasn’t paying attention to what he had on his plate.
But nothing makes me happier than cooking a meal that my husband enjoys, so I set out to do my best. Again, I didn’t even notice the tacos, let alone have a bite, but he seemed to enjoy my attempt and they were close enough that he was very happy.
Here is my receipe attempt at Disney World Shrimp Tacos from ABC Commissary! I hope you enjoy them on your families Taco Tuesday for years to come!

Ingredients
1 bag of frozen, small, peeled, shrimp
1 bag of taco size flour tortillas
Seasoning of Choice (I used Tony Chachere’s Cajun No Salt Seasoning)
1 bag of coleslaw mix
1 large tomato (chopped)
jar of your favorite (or any that you can find) mango salsa
Chipolte Mayo
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Thaw the shrimp according to the directions on the bag. Toss the thawed shrimp in a bowl with your choice of seasonings. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and add a tab of unsalted butter and turn on med-high. Once the butter is melted, add the shrimp. I flipped mine just as they started to curl up.
Wrap the flour tortillas in foil and place them in the warm oven. You just want the tortillas to be warm. I left mine in the oven for around 5-8 minutes.
When the shrimp are pink, they are done. Remove them from the heat.
Not it’s time to build our tacos! I took a warm tortilla and smeared a dollop of the chipolte mayo over the service. I added a nice mound of the slaw mix, followed by four or five shrimp. I topped it with a few tomatoes and a spoonful of mango salsa. That’s all there is to it. Easy peasy!
I had so much fun trying to remake these that I will probably try it with something else that we had this trip. Let me know in the comment section below if you made them. Happy Taco Tuesday! – Scarlett
